Henry Birch, the former head of gaming operator The Rank Group (OTCPK:RANKF), is among the top contenders to become CEO of Entain Plc (OTCPK:GMVHF), the gaming company that owns the gambling brand Ladbrokes, Sky News reported Saturday.
Birch, who directed Online retailer Fairy Group is among a small number of candidates vying to succeed Jette Nygaard-Andersen, who resigned from her position in December.
Nygaard-Andersen's departure came after Entain (OTCPK:GMVHF) agreed to pay £585 million to settle a bribery investigation and led to the appointment of non-executive director Stella David as interim CEO.
According to sources close to the company, other executives are in the running as well, including Dan Taylor, CEO of Flutter Entertainment's international operations.
