Judge tells Quebec car dealership to rehire man fired over sexual-assault conviction

Montreal-The Quebec Labor Court ordered a car sale agency in the south of Central Quebec to rehabilitate an employee after he was convicted of sexual assault.

Administrative judge Annie Labardi said that the work failed to show that the employee’s crime was linked to his position or that the propaganda surrounding the case would prevent him from implementing his responsibilities.

“The employer did not show an objective link between the convictions of criminal crimes and employee employment,” he wrote to Baradi. “Even looking at media coverage, they do not have a harmful, tangible, tangible and real effect on his ability to exercise his functions.”

Martin Roussin Bizier was launched by Ford in Theetford Mines, Qio, after being convicted in January 2024 by sexual assault on two women during the Bachelor’s Party in 2022.

The agency ordered the employee to return his position within 15 days, and to pay the wages he lost as a result of the shooting.

The lawyer, who represents the agency, Klushi Otto Ford Thetford, did not immediately respond to a request for comment, while the lawyer who represents Rossen Bezer said that his client prefers not to say anything about the decision.
