The major US indices are trading lower to start Friday. S&P & NASDAQ are higher this week

An updated technical look at USDJPY heading into to the weekend and the new trading week

US stock markets are open and trading, with major indices lower led by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. During the trading week, the S&P and NASDAQ rose as they extended to all-time highs this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is not higher today nor during the trading week.

A snapshot of the market currently showing:

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average average was -205 points or -0.53% at 38,444
  • The S&P is -13.72 points, -0.25% at 5,419.88
  • Nasdaq, -7.99 points, -0.05% at 17,660.

For the trading week, the Nasdaq is leading the way with a solid 3% gain currently:

  • Dow Jones Industrial Average -0.98%
  • S&P +1.34%
  • NASDAQ +3.07%

Apple is the star performer this week with a gain of 8.55% as its Worldwide Developers Conference impressed the market regarding its AI plans within its product mix.

Nvidia shares also enjoyed an 8% gain for the week.

Microsoft shares rose 4.06%. Apple and Microsoft compete for the largest stock in terms of market value, with each of them valued at about $3.28 trillion.

In the US debt market, yields are lower as the longer end heads lower:

  • The two-year yield is 4.687%, -0.1 basis points
  • The 5-year yield is 4.224%, -1.1 basis points
  • 10-year yield 4.213%, -2.7 basis points
  • The 30-year yield is 4.347%, -5.3 basis points
