Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump and his campaign Announce On Tuesday, it will begin accepting cryptocurrency donations. This is the first time that a major US political party has adopted digital currencies for campaign donations.
The Trump campaign has introduced a fundraising page that allows federally permitted donors to contribute using any cryptocurrency accepted on the Coinbase platform.
This can be seen as a sign of Trump's growing acceptance of financial technology, and his continued stance of reducing government control over individual financial decision-making. Trump's new stance contrasts sharply with the views of Democratic leaders such as Senator Elizabeth Warren, who according to Trump is building an “anti-crypto army” to restrict individual choices.
All contribution limits and disclosure requirements for cryptocurrency donations must be in compliance with Federal Election Commission regulations.
